On January 20th, The Bridge of the Americas Scholarship Endowment Fund was launched at the residence of the administrator of the Panama Canal Authority.
Some of the notable figures that attended the launch of the Endowment Fund were: the President of Panama Juan Carlos Varela, the Administrator of the Panama Canal Authority Jorge L. Quijano, and the Dean of admissions at Georgetown University Charles Deacon.
The Bridge of the Americas Scholarship Endowment Fund consists in providing to a Panamanian National, born and raised in the country, a fully paid tuition to attend Georgetown University for four years. The main two criteria's that are used in selecting the students are by need-base and merit-base.
